Heroes on Screen

Veterans Documentary Film Premiere
Thursday, October 9, 2025
Armed Forces Retirement Home - Washington, D.C.

On October 9, 2025, we’ll welcome guests to a special premiere screening and an evening that shines a spotlight on courage, sacrifice, and community.

A short documentary, created by TaleGate, captures the voices and memories of residents at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C. including Harry Miller, Milton and Kay Stark, and Carol Rhan. Filmed on campus and at iconic landmarks around our nation’s capital, it’s a heartfelt tribute to their military service and the journeys that brought them to our nation’s home for enlisted veterans.

Space is limited, so reserve your seat below and consider becoming a sponsor. We’re raising funds to help cover:

  • Final production costs for the documentary

  • A meaningful premiere screening celebration to honor the veterans whose stories are featured

Event sponsors will be invited to attend a pre-screening "green room" reception to celebrate those who were critical to bringing this film to life, and join them for the “red carpet walk” into the theater.

After the film, residents, guests, and supporters will come together for a community celebration, sharing conversation, connection, and appreciation.

Any funds raised above the film and event costs will go directly to the Old Soldiers Home Foundation to support programs that improve quality of life and excellence at AFRH.

Let’s give these veterans a premiere worthy of their service—and ensure their stories inspire for years to come.
