2023 financial results

Thanks to continued support particularly from individual donors, as well as many new donors this year, the Old Soldiers Home Foundation raised over $28,000 this year. We spent nearly $42,000 on programs focused on improving the quality of life for enlisted veterans residing at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, including:

  • Replacing pool entry chairs to help residents with mobility issues enjoy the therapy pool

  • Extending our support to the Gulfport campus with a new recumbent trainer for residents and their physical therapists to use in the gym

  • Helped sustain the golf course with by replacing the range ball collector and maintenance on the golf carts, mowers, and irrigation system

  • Added new community events including volunteer appreciation and game night, as well as our second annual Veterans Day celebration

  • Repeated contributions to get the gardening program up and running for the season

We rolled out a new website and email management service to help us keep in touch with supporters, and reduced fundraising expenses.
