Band of brothers rematch

On September 14, 2023, the golf course at the Armed Forces Retirement Home-Washington came alive with the laughter and camaraderie of a much-anticipated friendly match. The visiting Misfits, a spirited group of Army veterans and buddies, squared off with their “Ward Echo” hosts, residents and staff from AFRH-W.

This year, the golf course received a generous boost with over $19,000 in contributions from the Old Soldiers Home Foundation, thanks to donors like the Misfits. These funds were put to use enhancing the course with a new ball pickup cart, irrigation repairs, and mower repairs.

As we eagerly await the next match in Spring 2024, we're reminded that these outings aren't about competition. They're about friendships, stories shared, and the mission of supporting our veterans.
