Gym equipment for AFRH-Gulfport

After replacing much-used cross trainers at Armed Forces Retirement Home-Washington, The Old Soldiers Home Foundation was glad to buy a machine for AFRH-Gulfport as our first contribution there. These recumbent cross-trainers are important physical therapy tools for the home’s veteran residents because they are designed for seniors and those with physical limitations, easy to access and use, and parts can move independently and from different positions to target specific muscle groups. Resident services staff contacted the Foundation, which was able to move quickly thanks to recent fundraising efforts, and worked with NuStep in Plymouth, Michigan, to deliver a new recumbent cross trainer to the residents’ gym. The trainer has been installed and is already getting plenty of use. Thanks to our donors, and to NuStep which provided an $800 discount.

The Foundation looks forward to this first of hopefully many projects with AFRH-Gulfport!
